Pteromalidae
Pteromalidae is one of the largest families of Chalcidoidea, but it is also the most poorly known taxon in the family in terms of phylogeny and indentification. Dr. John Noyes maintains current information on the number of subfamilies, genera, and species of Pteromalidae here as part of his Universal Chalcidoidea Database.
Roger Burks is currently researching the phylogeny of Pteromalidae, most particularly of the pteromalids related to the genus Nasonia, using both molecular and morphological evidence. This research is ongoing at this time, but some of the latest results are provided in the presentation downloadable below.
