My Research
I am
currently working on the distribution and phylogenetic significance of a
specialized pair of scutellar sensilla. These sensilla appear in 12 of the 19 chalcidoid families as well as in scelionids and ceraphronids. Both the shape and
the placement of the sensilla vary significantly and are potentially useful characters
for phylogenetic analysis. It is the goal of my research to uncover the
variations and create meaningful character states.
